The difference between a strut and a normal shock is that a strut carries some of the weight of the car. Most of the time, the spring is mounted on the strut. In case of any compression on the strut, or the spring, or both, the wheel moves upwards towards the body of the car. The mechanism of the coilover is similar. It has a longer coil spring that is coiled around the strut. For the upward movement of the wheel, both the shock and the spring must compress. Performance AND style Depending on the make and model, ST sport suspension kits will typically allow a lowering amount of 20mm on both the front and rear axles (VW Golf VII GTI), however for certain models up to 60mm is now possible! Please check what level of lowering is available for your car before ordering.

The pre-set damping is not only set per vehicle, but also the intended level of lowering (for example 20mm or 30mm). OEM quality Every ST sport suspension kit is built to meet German technical inspection standards to be used on a wide range of vehicle brands.
